Romsey is a small market town 10 miles north of Lyndhurst. The Norman historic abbey originating from the 10th century and the burial place of Lord Louis Mountbatten is definitely worth a visit. The Victorian town hall is also steeped in history and is a great source of information with the visitors centre located in the building.
